CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENTS
As healing is a process rather than an event, follow through is essential for successful Chiropractic treatment. Your initial Chiropractic consultation is a comprehensive exam including evaluation of posture, muscle function, spinal alignment, flexibility and mobility; an assessment of nerve interference and accumulated stress; and an observation of any abnormal reflex patterns. Your first visit will include any adjustments and therapeutic modalities as appropriate. Follow up appointments will support the foundation of the initial exam findings through corrective adjustments of the vertebrae as well as other supportive therapies. Chiropractic Physicians are trained in a variety of hands on therapies such as injury-specific muscle work, reflex techniques and physical therapy modalities.
DRY HYDROTHERAPY
Dry Hydrotherapy (hydromassage) improves functioning of the circulatory, lymphatic, muscular and nervous systems.
Hydromassage is a modality that provides relief from pain by using jets of warm water to massage the soft tissues of the body. The heat and massaging action of the water work together to help improve circulation, relieve muscle tension and stiffness, release trigger points, increase range of motion, release pressure on nerves and promotes general relaxation.
You will lie completely clothed on the surface of the table. Just under the surface is a mattress filled with heated water. A pump propels the water toward you through three patented hydro-jets. The pressure of the water against the your body provides a very effective deep tissue massage.
Your body responds quicker to the treatment because there is much less trauma to your body when treatments are done when you are relaxed.

ULTRASOUND THERAPY
What Is Therapeutic Ultrasound?
Therapeutic ultrasound is a way of treating various internal ailments with a sound frequency far beyond the maximum that can be heard by the human ear. THis noninvasive and painless treatment is F.D.A. approved and has been used throughout the world for over 50 years.
How is Ultrasound Energy Generated?
Ultrasound is generated by high frequency vibration. The vibrations are generated by applying an electrical voltage to crystals. When these crystals are energized, they vibrate at a very high frequency. The crystals are contained in what is called a soundhead.
How Does Ultrasound Treat Various Ailments?
Ultrasound uses high frequency vibrations to excite cells creating physical, chemical and electrical changes within the body. This vibration can penetrate into the body at a depth of up to 2 inches.
Why Is A Gel Pad Used Between The Soundhead And Patient?
A coupling agent is necessary in the application of ultrasound to transmit the ultrasound waves and prevent air between the skin and the soundhead. The gel pad allows the soundhead to contour the patient's body.
What Are The Non-Thermal Effects On The Body?
Ultrasound's non-thermal effects at the cellular level are tissue regeneration, soft tissue repair, a decrease in muscle spasm and pain, bone repair, and swelling reduction. THe effects on the musculo-skeletal system are a decrease in swelling, decrease in muscle spasm, and decrease in pain.
What Will I Feel During The Treatment?
During the ultrasound treatment, virtully nothing is felt. When ultrasound is used in combination with muscle stimulation, patients experience a pulsing or tingling sensation.
How Long Is The Treatment Time?
Treatment times vary, but best results are generally achieved within the range of 8 to 15 minutes.
How Long Does It Take To Notice Results?
Because it is a stationary ultrasound treatment, it can be controlled and repeated with great consistency. It is not unusual to see noticeable results
within 2 to 3 ultrasound treatments. Patient response varies depending on the condition being treated. Repetitive daily treatments have been shown to be very successful. Dr. Bishop will evaluate your condition and establish the ideal treatment protocol.
